TortellOni with Sage Butter Sauce
INGREDIENTS
6 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. ground sage or Italian herbs
1 tsp. salt
tsp. fresh-ground black pepper
1 lb. fresh or frozen cheese-filled tortellini
2 tbsp. chopped flat-leaf parsley
- In a medium frying pan, melt the butter over low heat until it is soft and golden. Stir in the sage, salt and pepper.
- In a large pot of boiling, salted water, cook the tortelloni until just done, about 4 minutes for fresh and 9-10 minutes for frozen. Drain the pasta and return to the pot.
- Add the butter and parsley and toss over low heat until the pasta is thoroughly coated with the butter, about 1 minute. Serve immediately and garnish with some Grana Padano cheese, black pepper and some torn parsely leaves.
- Variations: Ravioli with Garlic Sage Butter Sauce Feel free to use ravioli, or any other small stuffed pasta, instead of the tortelloni.
